I've probably had this since the turn of the millennium. I got it at a time when I still thought I could remember all the names of everything (I was delusional, obviously).
Anyway, this is a lovely iris.. I think of it as orange creamsicle in color, but I guess you could call it peachy or possibly creamy apricot too.

Some names I've considered:
Aphrodisiac (has a wider border on the falls)
Barbara My Love (Beard is darker orange)
Halo in Peach (broader boarder again)
Captain Crunch (Maybe pinker and beard more orange)
Classmate (beard fatter)
Champagne Taste (Beard all orange)

I don't have a clue about its name but it is a beautiful iris.

One that might be close is Awesome Blossom, but I am not sure if the beard is right. Also your's has a ridge of color around the falls, this one doesn't seem to. Check it out.

Oh, thanks for the suggestion Tom. I think Awesome Blossom looks more yellow on the falls... and more ruffled too, I think
I just went out to look again so I wasn't swayed by the colors in the pictures. The colors are more saturated when it opens, then fades.
STD's are peachy w/ going more towards pink at the midrib, w/ a bit of a greenish streak @ midrid.
Falls are white w/ 1/4" band of peach around edges which fades out as flowers age. Hafts are deep peach/apricot, going a bit pinker towards the beard.
Beard is golden/orange, going to white at the tip.

Looking at more pictures of Barbara My Love, the beard does seem closer, but *maybe* fatter, as is the edging on the falls. I'm wondering if climate, or cultural conditions could be the difference.. ??

It could be, I planted that one last year, so haven't seen it up close. The timing would be about right too.

Mine is nearly finished right now.. just a couple more buds.. so it starts before the late ones, has a long-ish bloom period (about 4 weeks) and is finishing this year with the late ones having maybe another week + But it's been a very strange year for the weather.

Worked a few years in my early 20s at a C-store with gas pumps back when using a gas-brand credit card meant you had to give your car license number in order to process the charge. With a lot of repeat customers, I had 400+ plate numbers in my head. Remembered the cigarettes they smoked, the kind of milk they bought, and the kind of candy their kids preferred. Now? I almost can't even keep my own zip code in my head! Maps, markers, and lists are the rules of the day. Hilarious! Hilarious!

Debra, I used to do parking enforcement.. I also had license plates in my head for years. Nice to know I wasn't the only one. I also used to manage nurseries and would look at lists of plants from growers all the time. There was a time I could drive down the street and name every plant by it's botanical, and common names.. Now it's "oh yeah... I know that one... just give me a minute.. it starts with a C.. or maybe an M... hold on.. it'll come to me...."

Does the name 'Blonde Bombshell' ring any bells?

Kent, I could see myself buying 'Blonde Bombshell' purely on it's name. Some of the pictures online look like possibilities, and some the color is not even close. If I've still got one in bloom on Friday, I'll take it to our meeting and see ifJoe recognizes it as his... but I think it's the closest guess yet. Thumbs up
