Does anyone know this iris well? I am supposed to have it, and the photo here is supposed to be it. I cannot find anywhere that says it is fragrant but this one is. It does have a slight PBF which SW is supposed to have.

Can't answer your questions, Lori -- sorry. But it sure is a pretty Iris -- and smells good to boot? Sounds like a winner, whatever it is!

It is really pretty and I love it! I have it in 3 different places but I suspect it is not what it is supposed to be and of course I want to know what it is. Sticking tongue out

Arlyn has more knowledge of PBF Iris than anyone I have seen on this site, so hopefully he can help.

I don't grow SW, so I really can't comment on aroma, although I did some searching on the vendor's sites that allow you to search for "fragrant" iris....and it's not in any of their lists, BUT, if beauty is in the eye of the beholder, doesn't it follow that smell is in the nose of the sniffer ? If you have the opportunity, take some extreme close-ups of the haft area, beard, and showing the style arms. Those areas seem to be the best "diagnostic" aids I've found for the "reds'....I've got a TON of "red noids"I'm working on I.D.s for !. Sorry to not be of more help....Arlyn

Arlyn is working with PBFs and, on the off chance, I thought he might recognize it. Smiling

Crying If he grew it he would know it for sure. Sadly he doesn't so I will have to wait and see if anyone that does chimes in.
In the mean time, I shall enjoy the clump of it that I have.

I have a huge plot of Samurai Warrior and the answer to both questions is YES. It has also been a very prolific iris for me.

Ok I feel silly....

I was scratching my head going "what is SW?" Confused

Duh, it stands for Samurai Warrior . *Blush*

I blame it all on the beautiful iris photos. Glare They have fried my brain and made me dehydrated from drooling. Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
