If I go for tickets and win, how will I receive my prize over here in GB? I don't really fancy a flight over there and back for a pack of bulbs. LOL.

Since most of our participants are in the US, it hasn't come up as far as I can remember.

In the case of gift certificates, I don't think it matters where you are. If the shipping cost is higher then you won't get as much with your order since more of the cost goes to pay for shipping.

If you're a winner you get to choose which prize you get, too, so you'd ideally choose the one that best matches the circumstances.

I don't think any of them ship overseas though. Sad

Well, I guess then, the overseas winner would have to give it to someone else. I imagine the prize is transferable.

I am somewhat in the same boat though not counting chickens yet. But it is fun to participate anyway. Could I designate my 'second' or would they just go back into the pot?

Trust me to come up with something like this. With my luck in raffles there won't be a problem anyway. If I did win, the next one down could have it. Just to belong to this site is enough for me. I will have a go, just for the hell of it.

Due to import/export restrictions (required customs inspections, phytosanitary certificates etc.) and all the work involved, many companies probably don't want to ship live plants or plant material internationally. Maybe someday nurseries/gardening supply companies in Europe, Asia, Australia etc. will offer prizes to the ATP Not-A-Raffle-Raffles ... now wouldn't that be something! Thumbs up

I am in a similar position so if I win the plants or bulbs and they can't be sent here then I would gift it to an ATP friend. I bought a few tickets already. Green Grin!

I just remembered a saying of my Dad's based on the 'counting chickens' one. We used to 'cut up moose' before having caught (well, shot -- you don't 'catch' a moose) one. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

Ah, I always 'buy' a ticket hoping to win more acorns. The one time I actually won a 'real' ATP prize, I passed on it and opted for the acorns.

Wonder if Shrug! @dave can make an exception and substitute one of our fine T-shirts or ATP mugs (or seeds from the childrens' seed company) in the event that the original prize cannot be shipped to one's country.

Lovey dubby ATP is such a wonderful, caring, sharing community!

You all bring Smiling 's to my face; such kindness is in abundance here! I love the fun Not-A-Raffle-Raffles and if I were to win a prize that I could not use, i.e. plants that wouldn't do well in my growing zone, or perhaps plants that I don't have a good spot for in my garden, etc., I too would say "pass it forward" to the next in line. Group hug

Some companies don't ship to California either, but it's a simple matter to transfer a gift or a gift certificate to another member, perhaps to a friend, to someone whose contributions to the site are highly appreciated, or to someone expressing great enthusiasm in one of these raffle threads.
