Ann, Mother Nature will take care of it. If not this year then at some time in the future. We do absolutely nothing back there as there is a significant slope to the area with huge pieces of granite. In the fall every year I do weed whack all of the understory to the ground. I leave the leaf fall down until the following spring. Whacking all the understory down the previous fall makes blowing the leaves around much easier the following spring.

At one time we lived in Tn. around the Nashville area ~~ in Bellview & Franklin. I'm not familiar with Dayon. Where abouts is that?
The terrain there was certainly unlike anything this Fl. girl had ever experienced. Yes, slopes so steep you can neither go up them nor down them unless you fancy sledding down them on your rump without the padding of snow.

Ah. I wonder why I never heard of it. Heck, I even know where Bell Buckle is. I think back then they had a population of less than 200.

Dayton is best known for the Scopes Monkey Trial that paved the way to teach evolution in public schools. The movie Inherit the Wind was based on that trial.

I didn't make the association at all. Funny, my dh & I were just talking about the Scopes Monkey Trial the other day. HA! I'm going to have to ask him if he knows where it took place. He probably does ~~~ he picks up things like that.

@flaflwgirl One of the festivals they have here every summer is the trial reenactment.

Hey, not much to have a festival about here in Dayton. It's like living in Mayberry RFD

Hey, but living in Mayberry RFD isn't such a bad thing. That's why we moved up here ~~~ get away from all that other craziness & go back to a little simpler way.
