Here is a few that are blooming now. First is the Advante Garde. The third picture is the new trellis I made to support this Clem. She got so big last year that it fell over on it self.
Has anyone successfully had SS Love bloom -- year after year? My plant is easily over five years old and has never bloomed. All other clems in my garden bloom.
Sunny, I've had SS Love for about 7 years on an arbor and it blooms every year. Wish I could help. It def. loves the sun and is a heavy feeder. One year I skipped fertilizing and it didn't bloom as much or as long as usual. Do you cut it back in the Spring?
This will be my SS for five years -- it has never bloomed.
Betty Corning is planted about 6' away, in a shadier spot. BC blooms every year, and last year was a beautiful sheet of airy light blue for several weeks.
Julie, it dies down to the ground every winter. I could move it to a sunny spot -- but, all of my other clematis plants are blooming in areas that are part sun/part shade.
I will move it this fall I guess to a spot with more sun, give it two more years, and then -- replace it. I am really surprised that it is considered a "proven winners" variety. It is the ONLY clem. I have that does not bloom.

You are MUCH more patient than I would be!
