As my alliums assume garden promise they've mostly been blooming under overcast skies; but, I still appreciate their geometrical solidity. Finest filler for the past spring bulbs demise into the forthcoming lily season.
Alliums have been a staple in this garden for at lest a decade. There's some closer to the ground cultivars about to present themselves. Could be A.christophil, or A. schubertii (my favorite , a veritable spaceship in appearance; but reservations persist as to it ability to overwinter this past winter's severity. A. caeruleum may yet present as well as may the legendary tall cultivar Summer Drummer.

Try to be more valuable than a bad example.
As a kid my mother grew a row along our asphalt driveway, purple 3' to 4' killers. The neighbors joked about them but they didn't have them. Great flower.
Do they have a decent cut life? Not a deal breaker, simply curious?
Hi Wes...sorry for the delay. I've been busy in Texas since the 17th. Chives and Nerctaroscordum do well. Allium jesdianum Early Emperor did ok but not as long.
