Buddha and the flower tags. This is the shade garden full of primroses, wildflowers (trillium, bloodroot, anemones), cypripediums, mini hostas, species irises, species peonies, etc.

Close up of Harmony. Spent the day raking again. Need to get the last report of the school year done tonight so I can totally focus on the yard and indoor plants.

Apple tree and "the park," the upper garden. The tree in the middle is a big weeping cherry.

and to think just a few weeks ago you were snowshoeing!
I have a question about the hellebores..I planted them for the first time late last summer, then moved them to their permanent
bed in the fall. They have put out a mess of new leaves and look very happy, but no flowers. Is this a plant that takes a while
to bloom? They typically bloom for you with the crocus?
Beautiful tulips , Janice, do you treat them as annuals and replant every fall?

It may take a few years for them to hit their stride, I've found. Not sure why but mine budded up in the fall, spent the winter in bud and started blooming the minute the snow was gone. I know they are a shade plant but I have them in full sun at first, then more shade as the trees leaf out.

Thanks, Lindsey.
My Hellebores started to bloom in early February, before anything else. Not all of them, only certain varieties (can't remember the names, as I never labelled them).
As Kathy said, they do take a few years to produce a nice clump, again depending on the variety.
Tulips, no, I leave them in and most of them will last 2-3 years here in the South. Of course, as you know (from Brent & Beckys'), tulips don't do as well in the South as the marvelous Daffodil. But I have had alot of luck with the species and Kaufmans returning well.
But it is SO easy to grow here in NC, compared to my home state of Mass. The sun is stronger and the growing season so much longer. My Angelica is 2 feet high now, for goodness sake. Lilies are up 18 inches. , etc. (However we will be back in Mass. in awhile, braving those winters).
