Lovely iris! We occasionally see those cows around here - I've always just called them pig-cows, never knew their actual name (thanks). What's really interesting is when the farmer also raises whatever kind of pigs have those markings as well.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

LOL, I had only seen them in pictures so it was neat to see them in person! Very striking dotting the hillsides.

Looks like great fun! And that black one? I'll have to quit calling those dark purples "black", that's a stunner! Thanks for sharing.

Now I'm wondering where I can find an iris farm locally...

I have daylily farms within reasonable driving distance, my favorite is rather informal and I get nice clumps instead of fans. I also have a local rose vendor that I try to visit once a year just to view the inventory and find another to kill, lol.

Recently though I found a huge hosta farm. Older gent in his 80's sells his ground grown specimens retail but doesn't do shipping. Beautiful place. Hopefully he'll allow a few pics to share here at ATP on my next visit.
