Coming up (not immediately, but sometime) will be a huge additional set of features for the Recommendations, and I'm going to make it based on the database model, where you will be able to propose changes and additions to companies already listed, and those changes will be inputted directly and approved by moderators.

Additionally, each company will have checkboxes where you can check off what kind of company they are (categories and things like that).

I think that'll make it a lot better.

Is this still in on the To Do list?

I am wondering if we know about a change that should be made to to update the business info on an entry, but we are not the person who originally added the company to Recommendations - is the only way to "propose" a change to ask here in the Site Forum, or to contact Dave directly?

It would be nice if we had a "Propose a data change" or something like that to click on and then be able to type in whatever the change is.

I think it would be "fun" to use badges instead of checkboxes for "Additionally, each company will have checkboxes where you can check off what kind of company they are (categories and things like that)." Not sure that is possible, but ? Of course, some companies sell more than just, say, daylilies or iris. It is a thought, if this idea of the checkboxes is still in the works.

I do think it would be nice to have a way to propose a change or update to the company information by clicking, similar to the way we propose a change to an image or info in the database.

Thanks!

Thank You!

It's definitely still on the TODO list. I think about it all the time and it's a high priority for me.

Thumbs up

Hurray!

In the mean time --- how about changing
"Crintonic"
to the more complete
Crintonic Gardens
and the address should be Gates Mills not Gates Mill

I know, picky….
I see that Ashwood Gardens was listed as Ashwood Gardens Daylilies
which might be a good idea for Crintonic Gardens, since no one knows what a "Crintonic" is… at least until you get the update done and there can be a checkbox or something put in there showing what he sells. Just seeing "Crintonic" in the main listing isn't very descriptive, unless you know who it is already.

Thumbs up

Edited to add - I tried to edit my comments on the recommendation, to add a link to your interview/podcast with Curt and it did not show up as a clickable link, unless I opened up the actual comment. Do links not show as clickable in comments to recommendations?

I've made the updates to Crintonic Gardens' listing.

Ashwood Gardens Daylilies is listed like that because that's actually their name, apparently. If not, we need to edit their entry to have their actual name there.

It won't be long (hopefully) before I have categorizations available and then we'll have a lot more context around each of these companies.
