I've never grown them and stumbled into a pair this afternoon. I went to one store for some clearance bulbs and scored fairly well (132 corms and a pack of seed under $20) and tried to find a cucumber and they had none. So I hit another store that only had Burpee Bush Hybrid and I also nabbed a bush hybrid Goliath tomato since I was breaking a twenty. I've grown both heirloom Early Goliath and hybrid Goliath and I've been pleased with both over the years. Figured the bush hybrid to be a "must try" (besides, they looked really healthy).

I tried a few searches but I'm leaning towards growing these in containers. Pros or cons? I've got room in the flower beds but I kinda figured these might not need that space?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Tomato got potted just to save space (and I had a suitable sized pot with a built-in cage). The bush cucumber is going in the ground with a small trellis since I'm having difficulty picturing a cucumber bush.

Not really a bush, just short stubby vines. They are recommended for container gardening, but I have not tried it.

Good to know, I've got plenty of pots and might end up with another. Curious how they produce, only one way to find out.

Just had to try a couple of new things here. Plenty of room for a larger type at my own place. Going to till at home this evening, just wish I'd paid the extra for a rear tine model...(my tiller serves best for flower bed prep, veggie garden is a lot more work)
