I was greeted today by a nice new Lotus blossom. I didn't realize that this one smells of Anise! I love it!

Nymphaea Midnight Serenade was open this morning. It is actually a bit more blue.

Then I went to the local Aquarium store. It seems that Paradise Fish are not in high demand and had to be ordered. But I picked up a group of 6 Golden Gouramis, which took to their new home very nicely. They ate already some floating bugs, checked out everything and even snapped up some pellets which I had bought for them.

Finally I picked up 5 red Cannas and planted them as a backdrop. Hopefully they will grow nice and tall.

Thanks Kathy! Smiling

The little Gouramis survived their first night out in the open. I am glad they dash quickly under a leaf if one puts a hand into the water, since we have a Kitty patrolling the yard and she also has been observing drinking from the pond....

I could send a small gator up to take care of the kitty problem. :>)

Jim - the little Kitty is a very good little Kitty, since she keeps other riff raff out of the garden nowadays, unless they are a large Groundhog with baby.... Rolling my eyes.
I think they are going to be ok with her around, I can't imagine she is that skilled in going fishing? And I will not throw in food at the edge of the pond, but throw it into the middle, so they get used to look for stuff there.

Jim, I may take you up on that small Gator!!
Kitty goes to lap up some water and the little fish form a half circle to watch her. So far they do it from a couple of feet away....

I think we should let the gator determine how good the kitty is.

Oh yes, I'm not nearly as worried about wrapping the gator as Ursula should be unwrapping it. I suspect it won't be too happy after bouncing around in a postal truck for three days.

Good one Jim, I think you are right on that account.

It's pretty obvious how effective Jim's gators are because I never see anything swimming in his pool. I think the little fishies would be in more danger from the gator the from kitty.

I think we are past the fish and kitty. This is all about Ursula unwrapping that irritated gator.

Very funny!!
Ok you changed my mind....thinking about those fangs..... Whistling
I picked up another 9 very cute and lively Paradise Fish and I placed bird netting around the pond. It is hardly visible and should do the job. I was advised that sooner or later the Kitty would win....can't have that!
