He seems to shine best in the fall. I might work on cutting down the beardless irises today but I have a lousy head cold so I may just hang out and not move much. Day off from work and no reports to write!!

Lovely fall colors Kathy. What is the 4th one in the long string of shots? I am sick with a nasty head cold this week too. Wish I felt more like getting outside and doing something because the weather is perfect. This is the first Thunbergia I've ever grown. It reached the top of a 7' trellis and grew all over some Iris and lilies in the bed below it. Thumb of 2010-10-07/stilldew/3a66cc

The square raised bed off my deck didn't turn out exactly as planned this year. I planted what were suppose to be red cosmos in the center of the bed and they ended up being very tall pink and white instead. They were so tall that they fell over and I've removed them now, but the rest had filled in rather nicely. My vision was a bed of purple, red and orange and the pink just didn't look right, but I like the purple coleus, the fire zinnias and the red and orange lantana.Thumb of 2010-10-07/stilldew/61f560

Susan your Thunbergia is wonderful....love the black holes! Hope you both feel better soon!
Here's another toad lily , no idea which one. It grows much taller than the other one that I have...
maybe 3 feet.

Looks great, Bill!
Love the Thunbergia and the toad lily. Could it be Miyazaki? I used to have it and it was huge compared to the others. http://www.magnoliagardensnurs...

Suppose to be a frost tonight and 30degrees F. I said goodbye to the garden, brought in some asters, and cut down some daylilies this afternoon. Sigh!

At least yours are nice and tall! They can take a touch of frost.
I will post a pic of mine later.
