This may be nearly impossible but I'll venture the request.

We enjoy looking at the NOID and mystery plants; happy when each plant is marked 'identified', but is there some way to include the name of the plant in the heading after the correct identify is discovered?

This is a made-up example:
Instead of (Identified) What is this weed or wildflower? it could read (Identified) lupinus texensis/Texas Bluebonnet.

Thank You!

That's a good idea greene! I like it. But for that to work well, we would have to get *everyone* to actually mark the thread as done when it is indeed identified & there are quite a few who don't do that.

But, with the @Someone feature, we could gently remind them to do so...

I think the best way is to go into a thread that has been identified, and import the image into the database. Once the image import is approved, the image will be updated with the name of the plant. Then when future visitors to the thread see the first post, the identified name is right there at the top.

That still leaves us having to @someone to remind them to do that.
Oh, well. Shrug!

Actually, no. You can do it yourself. No need to get @someone (or anyone else, for that matter) to do it.

That's right! Because you can just suggest the photo for the database. Smiling

Right. Open the image up and at the bottom click on "Import this image to the database" and away you go.

Let me make sure I understand, please. If someone posts and image and I think it is a wonderful representation of the plant/flower/foliage/seed, etc. I just click and say 'Import' and it will happen? even if it was not my own personal photo?

It doesn't work pressingly the way you described but yes, that's essentially it.

Although doesn't the photo's originator get to choose whether or not it goes in the db? I seem to recall that someone clicked on a photo of mine (not a good pic in my mind but one that I posted within a thread), I was notified (I think I got an acorn or fraction of one?) but I asked that it not be included in the db and that was respected.

Of course. If you want the image removed it'll certainly be taken right down. Also, if you want to never have any of your images imported that way, you just let me know and I'll add your name to an internal list that prevents your images from being imported. We are accommodating to every desire at ATP. Smiling
