I'll be offering up another box for auction this coming week. The first one was a lot of fun but had a few glitches. The bidding will be public this time. Like the other one, I'll list a few of the plants that will definitely be in the box and the rest will be a mystery.

I'd like some input on how many days should the auction run.

What day to start and what day and time to finish .. keep in mind that the box will go out the first Monday after the auction closes.

Any other suggestions would be great!

I like the public auction idea. So people will post their bids to the thread?

I think at least 3 days for the auction but 7 might be even better, to give people a chance to learn about it.

If you start/stop on a Saturday then you've got the rest of Saturday plus Sunday to discuss with the winner and get the package together for a Monday mailing.

Yes .. they'll post their bids in the Auction thread. I guess I'll start on Sunday and run it through Saturday. It occurs to me that if there is fast bidding the last few minutes I can use the time stamp of the post for the winner but also wonder if on your end you can see seconds in the event there is a tie?

I can indeed see seconds.

And if two people post to a thread in the same minute, the thread will still order it using the seconds. Whichever is the last post in the thread is the last one even if the minutes show the same. I hope I'm explaining that clearly enough.
