Today's hellebores.

After yesterdays horrible weather, today is just a glorious day in the garden!
Here's the line of azaleas I planted last year and the allium, eremurus bed at the end of the driveway

We have one of those ugly utility boxes in our yard and I thought I would hide it with a little fence and
a few plants..the clemetis is in bloom at the moment, blooming on the WRONG side of the fence!

Gosh beautiful!! I heard there were 60 tornadoes in NC alone yesterday. What part of the state got hit?

Seems like most of the state was hit...except here. I was watching the radar and the cells
were stationary for ever.

Our area had no tornado activity. I think the worst area is Raleigh. To see it http://www.wral.com/

My Bearded Iris are barely in the budding stage.

Janice I think you and I are color combiners, am I right? That's what I think about most in the garden. I used to paint but now I combine color in the garden instead.

Kathy, I like to "paint" with plants....
...... and quilts and have with canvas and other mediums, too. It's all art, right?
You know, in the garden, I do very little planning. Most are happy accidents, as I just combine the colors I like.
And I am always surprised. LOL.

I've been eating black Surinam cherries from my tree. Here is one that is still a bit red and not quite ready to eat.


The bloom of a dwarf pommegranate. I don't eat the fruit but it makes an attractive small shrub.

The butterfly garden with yellow lantana, porter weed and scarlet milk weed. I'm getting lots of butterflies now.

Can't believe your ROS is blooming. Ours don't open till August!

Kathy, it may well be your August right now in Florida. It broke a record at 90 degrees yesterday. I normally have until May to get the gardening chores done but we are running ahead of schedule weather wise. Hot or not, I need to keep going until the open house on the 5th.
