Easily grown and impossible to kill, the sunroot is an amazingly useful and beautiful plant that belongs in every garden.

I imagine Joe Pye Weed could make a decent fortress plant.
Anything that puts on strong growth and forms a very dense hedge when planted in a row can be a fortress plant.
