All I can say is it appears to be a bitone, so narrow your search to those. I have Real Wind which is
a peachier shade but it does have the stripes on it. Yours is not my Real Wind.

If my description of my plant does not match yours please forgive me, but when I saw your picture, I said to myself, that is the same one as the NOID in my yard. I got mine from my parents house after they both passed away, so I am guessing the plant would be at least 20 to 30 yrs old.
You're in 9a and I am in 8b, and they are both blooming now so I thought that was a good sign they are the same also.The petals are a little darker than the sepals, the scape is about 24 to 26 inches the bloom is about six inches. My neighbor and her husband came over the other day, and of all the daylilies blooming now he picked this as his favorite, so I dug them one and sent it with a 'Champagne Elegance' ,her favorite. This daylily has a heavy substance to the bloom, and for me it is always later in the day before it fully opens its best and looks fantasitc. I cannot capture how pretty this daylily actually is with the camera,and to me it looks pretty darned good in the photos.

Not 'Man Catcher', this one has no yellow trim.
Nope, not 'Orange Vols' , this daylily is more red than orange looking to me, and again, no yellow trim.
I am hoping Betsy will join in here with her comments, I am going to feel bad if we don't have the same daylily!

Yours reminds me a lot (very much) of one of my reds, "Baja". Height, size, bloom, and even the foliage all seem quite familiar. Just a guess though. Mine gets tons of shade and is always a brilliant red like your close-up.

Wes, yes 'Baja' looks a lot like it, very much like it. What really makes me think this might actually be it is this photo shown in the data base.

One trait I mentioned was that it is later in the day before it fully opens. Plus the date of registration is perfect, an old daylily! Can't be sure but I really do think that is it.
Now I am wondering what Betsy thinks?
I have this plant in shade and full sun, it is amazing in the consistency of the blooms.

Y'know, I never really get to spend enough time at my house to soak everything in but "Baja" does take it's time opening up. More an "after work" bloom than a breakfast greeting. Hmm? I assumed the minimal amount of direct sunlight had something to do with it but being a trait acknowledged by others is interesting.

I meant to link to the database and forgot. It might very well be your NOID. I'm in SW Ohio, blooms aren't far off and I'll be sure to post my "knowns" for comparison and to add to the database.

Betsy's flower seems to have significant curl and orange(s) compared. I like it but have nothing remotely close.

It is so hard for me to judge by bloom photos alone, some cameras just never get close to the true color, I had not noticed the extra curling.

Seedfork, the stem is ~ 33-35 inches long. Today's photo looks more burnt orange than deep orange. The petals are curved backwards.

How big would you say the bloom is ?
