Bloodroot (
Sanguinaria canadensis) is not sensitive to pH - most species aren't. It does well in highly alkaline garden soil here, as well as in the more acidic soils of eastern North America where it is native, so, offhand, I don't see why you'd try to change the soil pH (not that throwing in a little soil amendment would really have any lasting effect on the pH anyway).
