I keep thinking to fill the vase, stem part of the mushroom with small stones. Then the weight of the stones would hold it in place in the garden or you would have to glue a stake of some kind on the bottom. I have a vase and top picked out to try it and see what it looks like. I also have some plastic stakes with flat tops that might just work well. I am going to a plant swap next weekend and it might make a nice gift. Guess I need to see about a bag of stones.

holly I turn the vase upside down so I don't have to worry about water getting into it. I make sure the ground is flat where I put them and they are so close to the ground I do not believe they will fall over. Even if they do the E-6000 if you use enough will not come apart. I made a shirt about 10 years ago with it and it washed atleast 25 times over the years I had it and the flowers and beads didn't move. I didn't dry it but that is because it was covered in silk flowers and figured they would ruin.

You could buy a cap for the end of a Pvc pipe and glue inside with pvc attached and push it into the ground. you probably would have to push a piece into the ground to make the hole so easy to push it into. You could also fill the vase with small stones and then seal them into it with caulk. that way you could still use the vase upside down. I do all my vases upside down because the one my friend gave me in a stack filled up with water.

I like the idea of filling with stones for the color effect it would give the stem. Remember you will be adding alot of weight doing that. I am saying that because carrying it to and from a trade is more apt to be broke. 2 of my mushrooms are actually crystal decanters right side up. The decanters are heavy because they are crystal. But everything is also a matter of how much you can get it for. The blue bowls I collected years ago as I love blue glass of any kind.

Yes pictures please. Hurray!

Vic thank you so much. I have always been creative and no one around me appreciated it. They would say well you could have done it this way. I see now I just needed to be around creative people in order to be appreciated. I love making things and it is funny as my best friend said we are like artist as when we are in a creative mood it just takes over and there are times we just aren't. I started noticing that when I am on a roll I am on a roll and when I am not I am not. Just can't force it.

There is a ton of talent in all of you also. I have seen it. I am disabled (failed back surgery but could be alot worse) and can't work so more time to play than some of you that is all. Also My David does everything around the house because that is his creativeness, cooking, cleaning etc

Good idea about using the PVC to cap the bottom. It would make them much heavier. Not an issue for me as I only make a few to give away. I do remember well when I was dragging macrame and hand thrown & ceramic pots to shows. Lots of heavy work.

David bought me this Angel last summer for 9 dollars
And last year I found this beautiful bowl at a Cracker Barrel on clearance. I Finally decided to use Velcro glued onto both pieces to attatch them together. This is not going to sit under any trees
