Back on November 17, 2011, I received a letter from Mr. Cramer. He enclosed some seeds that he labelled "Outfacing Pink Bicolor x Roten Kalif" I planted them the same day.

In his letter he mentioned that he received the bulb of Roten Kalif from Joe Nemmer. Cramer listed this as a Asiapet.

He is missed

Mike, that one is very beautiful and unusual. I especially like the pink glow around the nectaries. We are more used to seeing this type of color combination in the upfacing lilies. Thanks for posting the photographs.

Before his death, Mr. Cramer sent me approx. 12 different crosses. Last year only one bloomed. So far this year two (which is posted above) bloomed. Hopefully other will bloom this year. In his last letter he stated because of his age and Heath he was not selling any more seeds and he enclosed several crosses. Later I read he had passed away.

It's always sad when we lose one of the old timers. Precious seeds indeed.

I am sorry to not be familiar with Mr. Cramer, but that first set of photos show one outstanding flower. A fitting way to remember, I think. Smiling

I spoke with Bill only once . A collected man , who went about calmly , doing what he loved. He had more or less bred his liliums to grow in almost pure 'Horse Manure'..These seeds are strong Thumbs up
