Well.. My friend Erica had a bunch of 1/2 wine barrels a few years past their useful lifetime. We built up foam replacements for her this afternoon

Gordon, that looks so real, like real mortar and brick. How wonderful. Love the blue door.

Here they sit ..... This is the condition of the ones being replaced. They are shot...speaking of which. The pistols in the photo are a bank of old molds for casting guns. Their garden ornaments.

So, you stucco on the outside surface of the styrofoam, then mortared brick over that? It is beautiful.

no .. the one with the brick veneer has the brick glued onto the foam... then the joints motared in... the stucco ones are just the stucco on the foam.. it's a synthetic stucco... so it sticks to the foam nicely..and it comes in a range of colors.. and can be trowelled on or put on with a paint brush ...this is my stucco finish

oh... that one used a polyurethane adheasive PL400.. or locktite PL premuim... my favorte is the adheasive they use for the foam... from wind-lock called foam to foam adheasive... it goes into a foam gun... it says foam to foam... but it will stick anything to anything.. when

i get it on my hands.. there's a cleaner that will take it off.. if done promptly... but if you get a bit on you that drys.. it's a few days of bathing + scrubbing with a rough pumice stone to get it off.. that's how I rate an adheasive.. is how much abrasion it can take in the bath.. before comming away clean.. it's similar to the foam they sell that sprays out of the arerisol cans... but far superior.. and is a polyurethane foam... like the polyurethane in the pl adheasives.... but fills gaps... and is recomended to be used with the stone veneers..

notice ..in all the pictures they are wearing gloves... a smart choice.. although rarely do... and it does come off in a few days...
