Hello, I have my first plumeria cutting, which was planted on 4/21/2014, and it has quite a bit of growth on one stem with some little reddish leaves. I am wondering if this growth is good? Because I have read that early growth on a stem will take away from rooting and its better to cut. But, I wanted yalls wonderful opinion. I bought it on eBay, name was listed as "royal flush". I live in ABQ New Mexico, so its been in the 80's-90's lately so I know they love heat. It is extremely dry tho.
Anyways, any information or advice would be great! Thanks Smiling

Welcome! Alissa! Many people will take the inflorescence off a rooting cutting but I have never been able to do it. Your cuttings looks fine but don't water it until it has real leaves, OK? It should root fine for you at this time of year.

I have never removed an inflorescence either. I have never seen any problem with the plumeria rooting with an inflorescence. Just consider yourself lucky. You will see flowers while the rooting process is going on! Hurray!

Welcome! Alissa!

I agree with Hetty and Ken. I never cut off any inflo either. It is good to be rewarded with blooms right away :).
