So with Summer only a few weeks away, what do you all think of the Kudos series of Agastache?

I'll start. The ones we had in the ground from last year are in full bloom, masses of flowers. No mildew (a problem with many here) in sight.

And what color is your favorite?

Mine is 'Gold'.

I just got my plugs from a co-op today! They looked great but I'll have to touch back later when they are mature. I am very excited about them!!

I agree, Marilyn. Official change of mind. I just looked at a bench in one of our greenhouses with these 3 side by side, and I'm glad I didn't have to choose a favorite.

I like the Apricot and Sunset colors. I cant get TuttiFruitti to last more than 1 season.
I purchased a dwarf Agastache this spring,it looks like it might bloom soon.
Pink, not my fave color but it looks nice at the border.
Pink Pop, not my photo.

JoAnn - I completely forgot about my Tutti Fruitti until they bloomed .. and they lasted for about a month! I had to look at the tag to see who they were. I bought them as little pints last year for $1/ea and popped them in the ground in.. November? They're about 3' tall right now. :)

I think I have Gold.. I'll have to see who I bought earlier this year, but I know it's of the Kudo's family because I hadn't heard of them before. Got them locally at my fav. nursery (Tagawa Gardens). Either it's the "Gold" or the "Mandarin" series.
Roses are one of my passions! Just opened, my Etsy shop (to fund my rose hobby)! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Tweet...

The longest lives Agastache I have grown is Apache Sunset. It froze out last winter after 6 years.

I dont have any luck with sowing perennials. My Apache Sunset was a small plant in 2009.

I got Kudos Silver Blue and it's a scraggly little thing. Just planted it in the ground today. Has pretty little flowers. Hope the deer and bunnies leave it alone. I planted it in the memorial garden in the local cemetery where the critters like to munch on things. I've been planting things there all week and I'm about done. We'll see how this little agastache does.

The bunnies here usually leave my Agastaches & Salvias alone when the plants get they're 'good smelling scent'. But before that, I worry about them chewing my plants.

Make sure you cut off the flowers when you plant, so that the plant will first put its energy making roots and then it will produce flowers. Thumbs up

I planted a small Tango plant last year, but I think the wild rabbits chewed it and/or sat/hopped on it. Blinking Sad I haven't seen it bloom this year. Crying

Guess I'll have to get another one next year. Beautiful colored flowers. Lovey dubby Thumbs up
