I have one trellis and cukes and sweet sugar snap peas that need the trellis. Is it ok to plant these next to each other? thnx

I don't know about cukes and sweet peas together... when I grow (snap) peas, it is as a cool season crop... would the summer weather be too warm for sweet peas?

For what it's worth, in the past I have grown either asparagus beans or else regular pole beans on the same trellis as my cucumbers, so peas should be doable. (Beans and peas are both considered to be companion plants for cucumbers.) However, the beans tend to be hidden by the cucumber vines, so you have to hunt for them. (I imagine it would be the same for peas.) You also have to be on the lookout for pests that one plant might attract, that the other usually doesn't. (For whatever reason my asparagus beans end up being swarmed by aphids; the cucumbers, not so much.)

It will depend where you are. In the Pacific Northwest IF they have a cool summer, you might get away with it, but anywhere else it's months too late to plant your snap peas anyway. I'd save them and plant them after the cukes are finished for a fall crop. Peas really need cool weather. You should have planted them in March for most of the country, January or February if you are in California, Texas or the Southeast.

I did plant the sweet peas in March. They are 5' tall vines & are producing snap peas. I just wondered if i cant pop a few cuke plants in there with them. thanks all.

Oh, well done! In that case, sure I don't see why not.

Your peas will be finished producing fairly soon in any case I would think. They'll peter out just when the cucumber vines will be taking over the space.
