Placed some Iris on order have some coming for postage also... I am ready to get my Iris going once again... This is my by far favorite plant and cannot wait to get going again... !

I've already received my orders from Napa Country and Sutton's -- fabulous rhizomes. And I believe I still have six more orders to come. Can't wait! I pot them up because of our heat and won't get them in the ground until Sept-Oct, so the planting is easy when they arrive -- and I have my plywood/sawhorse tables all ready!

Napa - never heard of them! Suttons are wonderful - but on the high side for me right now... trying to build back on a very limited budget and it just does not always work! Have over 100 Iris in Texas, moved them to OKC to my inlaws while we found a place, two years later here we are and only 2 lived past the inlaws dogs... a yellow noid from my grandmother we never figured out what it was for sure, and a sky blue noid that I found by the road side a long time ago. Ever last named one there the dog took and dug and chewed over the two years - so now here I am starting 100% over... and building a better Iris world for it. Placed a great order with Snowpeak and looking forward to seeing how they look when they get here.

That's horrible about losing all your beautiful irises -- but now you can slowly rebuild with new stuff -- Snowpeak is a great place to order from too!

it was - but I think of it like this I had Iris that where stunning - but many fillers I kept just because I had them. This is a chance to start fresh and clean up the old list - pick out the ones I loved and have room for ones I can see look stunning - now more of just keeping a plant to keep the plant... it will be a good thing!

Mitch does your local iris society have a sale? Probably not right away because of the heat, but later this summer.

You know in Texas I knew - now we live so far out in the hills that I would not even know where the local one was located! Is there a database for that?

Google Oklahoma Iris Society..there is also one in Tulsa listed

Shot them an email - their web page was last updated in 2007 so I dont know if there is much hope there! But there must be - Iris are one of those flowers that Oklahoma weather does not scare away!

OK Iris society put on the median convention in OK city. So they are probably busy with plant dispersal. Go to the AIS irises.org & look through the regions. There should be a list of clubs which you can contact.

Here's another website for you - Stout Iris and Daylily Gardens, somewhere around Oklahoma City. Hugh Stout is the President now of the Tall Bearded Iris Society, I believe, and you could always email him to find out what's going on in Oklahoma. He's a great guy, and very helpful too.
