I make jelly from the berries!

Crush the leaves and rub them on your clothes to repel mosquitoes.

Jay, it's like a game of JEOPARDY! Hilarious!
....but everyone wins!

The berries are such a gorgeous color.

I've heard that, Greene, and also that people used to put them under their horses' saddles to keep away pests.
Have you really tried it on yourself and found that it worked? (not the saddle part, clearly Hilarious! ) If so, I'm getting one!

@Danita, Dang if I wasn't at a yard sale today where a young woman was actually selling a saddle - in downtown Savannah! I could have purchased it and done an experiment, but no, no saddle on this heifer.

I grab a hand full of leaves (to me they smell like Lantana) and rub them on my shoes, socks, jeans, forearms (don't do that part if you are allergic to things unknown) and even on top of my head (I have hair, so the bald people, whether by genes or by style choice, should remember the allergy warning), I even rub some on the dog (check with your local Vet, your mileage may vary).

I think you could crush some and roll them in a bandanna to tie around your neck or the dog's neck...or the horse's neck (mighty big bandanna needed there) if he's still reading this.

Yes, it works!
