LOL Allison, today has been Wednesday for me! Sheesh!

Oh Karen, I can do some seriously dumb things sometimes. I guess I must have placed this order when we were looking at that huge house on 10 acres. LOL I'm not sure why I thought I needed all 81 of these. http://cubits.org/chatters/thr...

I am so tired. I took me hours to unpack and I didn't even pot them up. I just set them all up in trays and bottom watered. They'll be fine like that for awhile.

I was wishing you were here to help me, Sidney!

last year I didn't pot mine up either... and they were fine for almost a month before I planted them.. the cell pack I used was a tad big so I put some polymer gels in it to hold them up

You folks are better plant Moms than me. I could never hold them like that for weeks without potting up. I'd forget about them, or be negligent at watering, and they'd dry out and die. Last year I planted them in yogurt cups and held them like that for a couple of weeks until I could plant them outside.

But, I only ordered 10 or 12 plants, a little more do-able than 4 boxes...

Okay, I'm real happy you all let me in on the coleus cutting co-op, but after reading this whole thread, I'm jealous! Tell me about the Rosy Dawn orders. Did each of you order from their website? Did you get a price break? Can coleus be shipped once it gets hot?
so many questions...and wow, I'm really enjoying the pictures!

yes we did get a price break.. so far I have shipped coleus all year.. cold or hot has not effected them... the cuttings I received from Florida last end of summer.. and just put in a garbage bag were mostly ok... a few wilted but overall they were good

if I were just sending a few cuttings the mild weather is best though

I placed an order with Rosy Dawn and received my plants yesterday. They are fabulous....much bigger than the ones I purchased last year. Hope we can do this every year.

Got my RDG order earlier this week. potted them up the other night... they're outside underneath my potting shed, although i should be more careful... it's not very warm yet at night. most of the plants we huge and beautiful, with roots i had to cut through to pot them... the ones that were tiny, well, they gave me a few bonus ones:

Mean Streak
Brooklyn Horror
Irish Eyes

I think another one, but i can't remember the name...

Still wading through my Gebhart's order... no time to pot them yet. but that's for another forum.

hopefully i won't lose most the way i did over this last winter. stupid mealybugs. i don't know where they came from. probably from a box store plant i bought at clearance. another reason i brought these outside and away from my mealybug indoor palace LOL. most of them are gone but i'm paranoid now... i keep spraying down the place and leftover plants with rubbing alcohol spray. yuck.

anyway, happy planting all!
