Very interesting. Hope you can get one to trial. Sounds like they are more hardy than rudbeckia.

Went to the nursery again with camera in hand. They are not blooming but I have pictures of the plants.
Three different varieties. Summerina "Yellow Patio', 'Brown Tuin' and "Orange Turin'.

Leave, very fuzzy almost a bloom on 'Brown Tuin'
Even the stem is fuzzy

I'm going to wait. See how they go, I have been seeing them at nurseries all over town. Bet if the flowers are gorgeous they will fly off the shelf's. Funny people buy blooms, also everyone is into summer colors and these are more fall. Would look great in a fall container with heuchera and mums!

Hope you do, they are interesting. Wonder because they are so hairy that the slugs will back off on the nibbling.

Did you notice what zones they are rated for? One site had zone 3 another said zone 6.

Good to zone 6 and 30-36 inches tall. Not good for a container like I said above, too tall.

That would be borderline for me, especially after a Winter like the one we just had.
