I generally dislike the flowers on ground cover sedum. Especially if they are yellow. Does it harm the plant if I cut off those shoots before they bloom?
Probably not. I almost always cut off the blooms when they appear on any of my semps. AND just started to cut them off even earlier when they appear now that I have found that by doing that the plant may send out offsets (new babies).
Jennifer, on those sedum it'll just make the plant thicker and you won't have any spreading plants due to seedlings. (if that's something you do or don't want!)

Well mostly it is Angelina! So it can't get much thicker!
I love Angelina for that!! So then if you do cut off the bloom stalks, you will only have spreading through root and stem growth, no separate seedling plants (volunteers)
I like them all. I do prune them off as soon as they are done with the bloom. Makes the plant fill in and keeps them from reseeding all over the place.
But then if you want them all over the place, just leave the seed heads to dry and disperse.
