The biggest ones about an inch or so the littler ones about a quarter to half inch, not counting their tails.

Someone posted a Youtube of the rat-tailed maggots swimming. At one point the camera person holds a maggot in their cupped hand and after a short time the maggot starts eating the dead skin cells of the hand similar to the pedicure fish.
