I was outside last night around dusk & noticed that a bloom was opening on Butterscotch Ruffles. I noticed it because it was a deeper shade of peach than what I normally see. I've had this plant for years & never noticed this before. But when I think back, no matter how early I go out in the morning the blooms are always open. The other 4 blooms for that day were still open when the new one opened. Does this mean BR is nocturnal & has extended blooms? This was just 1 bloom. How many blooms need to do this before I can say for sure? I have 2 clumps. Should I make sure both clumps exhibit the same traits? And if they don't, what does that mean? The bloom that opened last night was still open when I came home from work at 6. It looked pretty bad but still hadn't started to close. Any ideas? I don't want to change anything in the database prematurely.

I would wait and see what both clumps do. I don't know how many need to do it to say for sure, but I had BUTTERSCOTCH RUFFLES for 3 years and the blooms never opened like you are describing.

Could it be temperature dependent? We are having cooler than normal temps. I've never noticed it before either.
