Humans' insistence on CONQUER AND CONTROL methods are having disastrous effects on our native pollinators. Monarchs may be the pretty poster pollinator, but ALL of our pollinators, bees, bats AND butterflies are threatened.

It's an ecoSYSTEM and once we messed with a piece of it, we messed with the whole thing. We are killing our home.

Silent Spring is coming back.

We gardeners need to sow more wildflowers that are useful to insects.
I had ordered a mix for bees, but have not got to sowing it. Must do that!

NATIVE wildflowers are best.
I don't even know where to find a local mix locally.....

I am lucky because I am surrounded by vacant allotments some still treed and have many native plants naturally in my place. However, the local authority sprays for mosquitos and midges by helicopter. I don't mind the insects but locals scream their heads off for spraying. I often wonder why they come to the islands. But then again the old families scream for it too.

Humans confuse me.
