Want to add this to my plant list but need to know which name to use. Foliage is about 27 inches tall. Just bloomed yesterday (Technically it was the night before, hence the night photo.) Came from a local plant swap so I have no information. Thank You!

Edit: It was identified as a Hymenocallis, no specific variety. Thanks for the answers!

It's one of the Hymenocallis.

I agree, Spider Lilies (Hymenocallis) but I don't know which one.

Greene, it can be near impossible to nail down which one.

I don't need to nail anything down, thanks.

I just wanted to add the plant to my list ... I tried typing in 'Spider Lily Hymenocallis' but it was not recognized. Tried 'Spider Lily (Hymenocallis)' still not recognized. All the others are listed as Spider Lily (singular) something-or-other but...this one is a plural. Even when I typed in Spider Lilies (Hymenocallis) it was still not recognized. I had to cheat and use the 'add this plant...' easy button. Thumbs up

Well, thanks anyway. I have added the plant to the general listing.

I believe the synonym would be Ismene. Another one the botonists are shuffling around, but I won't swear to that.

Good old botanists; they sure keep us guessing! Since I cannot guestimate the chromosome number for my plant I am thinking it's a Hymenocallis and not an Ismene.

It sure is a pretty plant and I am happy it found its way to my garden. Oh, and it's making a baby so I'll be able to share my joy one day.
