Rick, where are your seedlings from? Meaning, did you buy them, or have you learned the curse of pollinating?

Pretty flowers!

Thank you, Melissa. These three are all from Kukuan from Thailand. Just touching the waters, sorta speak with hand pollination. No results to date. Some grafting trials.
I am hoping for some blooms off of seedlings which I started in 2012 this year.
Have to try and keep to a controllable amount, but I am finding it very difficult.
I wish I had your climate here.

ADENIUMS are NOT controlable!!! !!!!!

I had a good laugh the other day, for some reason, I remembered a photo of one big one and five small guys in a group on my deck. Big, empty deck. HA!! Now, three years later, I almost cannot walk across the deck. I am needing to order ID tags. I think I'll start with one thousand from Hummerts. Or maybe I should do 2,000, no joke. But then the people on my little island can stick them in the ground and forget about them. I have at least--- I don't want to think about it--- twenty seed pods, and I'm still pollinating. groan.

That is truly amazing. If I lived closer I would help you pot them up. Do you sell them or did you not expect them all to grow?

Can you share how you start your seeds? I have some seeds and now you have me wanting to start them now!!!

I am a maniac.

I use seed starting mix about three to four inches deep. I water it generously before starting to place the seeds. I've found that refrigerators dumped at the trash place have great glass shelves, and bins. I was getting a nice collection before the Man showed up one day, telling me that I had to stop "because I might cut myself" I did not say, "Yes, Mommie" like I wanted to.

I lay the seed about that far apart, see photo of seedlings above,, then go back and give each one a bit of a push into the medium to make good contact. Then I sift nearly dry peat over them to just barely cover.

Using a clean Windex spray bottle, I spray them wet, with plain water, then I re-cover the seeds that got washed clean. Then I set them in a corner with light, but not direct sunlight. I loosely cover with plastic, making sure theres air circulation.

I spray the surface every morning. Then once the seedlings begin to pop up, in about five or six days, I spray them at least twice a day to make the seed coat wet, so the babies can shrug themselves free. I don't try to tug off the seed coat, that wiggles the seedling's delicate roots too much, as well as often leaving the 'peanut paper' thingie on them , which is not good at all..

Oh, when they start to pop up is when I start fertilizing them. Roots look for food as well as water.

Whew, lotta typing! Just about any container is OK, a carry-out pan is good, too, if you don't have too many seeds

Tuang Thong Purple

This is from Warunee (Thailand). Not showing as much purple as it is supposed to. Time will tell.

This one is one of my Mini Size 'Sun-Up Star' (seed from Steve).

Cute little guy.
I just love the differences between the different species/hybirds.
