Apparently there's plenty of people willing to buy my volunteers, if I could bring myself to sell it to them. Hundreds of feet of virginia creeper were removed this week, just like every year when I fight this highly invasive nuisance, yet all of the nurseries carry it. I weed out hundreds of bing cherry seedlings, arborvitae seedlings, red mulberries, chocolate ajuga. Oh, and all of this Taraxacum with it beautiful yellow compound flowers, spicy leaves that can be used in salads, and all parts edible!

With Alberta being so large, I'd have to use "City" as a designation. I agree that postal codes are too determinate a location and really are needed just for postal carriers. I'm in zone 3b, in case anyone's interested Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
I grow, as annuals, things from zone 7/8, in my garden of course Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling

Pegi, if it's anything like the Google Earth shot of my house, it will be all the junk from about 5 years ago!

That could be pretty cool, though, a Google Earth garden tour of ATP members!

I would still like to see a simple "members near your location" search using Dave's existing algorithm.

I agree - "near" my location could be hours away, but still could have Gardening RU's, and swaps, etc. We would only contact those we wish to. Could there be a "blocking" feature, too? I've never had to consider it, but I know that some have wanted to "not contact" people because of "issues". Rolling my eyes.

This is amusing: I use such a general category for my location that when I typed in my exact location the list told me Zuzu was located 41 miles from me.

It's looking at your profile to try to make a good guess about where you really are. Your profile says, "Northern California" so that's not much to go on.

Thank you, Dave - I've found some people who are "near" me, out of Calgary, and in Canada. It's nice to widen my horizons some more, thanks to the "near me" feature!! Lovey dubby
