I posted after the Plumeria show, pictures of a "Jean Morange" we had bought there. We started looking at it and we have been feeling more like it was a Jeannie...not a Jean. Hetty also thinks its a Jeannie...let me know what you think!

Here s a picture of a Jean (we think lol) Morange that we have that was blooming last year.

Heres another of our favorites that we have a question on... we have always thought this plant was, and have called it a Sally Morange. But we have some questions on whether that is what it is. Heres a couple of pix. saw RobertB has a Sally, maybe you could see what you think Robert and maybe we can see some more of the pix of your plant.
On a side note of this picture, if you look just above the upper right hand petals, you will see a fly caught in mid flight! t was noon and bright, so this photo was taken at 1/8000 sec...he wings are completly frozen! This pic was taken this month from a cutting off the main plant...

These are pictures of the main plant that was taken in June 2013. We lost the plant in the freeze this winter, but we have a dozen mature plants cut from her and the root ball is kicking big time.

Here is a pic of the root ball growth this year after she was frozen back.

Your third and fourth pictures look more like Jeannie Moragne. The bloom should be big.

Well I guess I am just confused....here is another "Jean Morange we bought last year at the Plumeria show....this one looks like the "jean" we bought this year..so you feel these are "jeans" and the third and forth pick are Jeannie?

I am also seeing why people split their pic's up into separate post's...easier to comment on! haha

Thanks

I don't think it looks like Jean Moragne but I don't have that so I haven't actually seen it in person.

I guess it makes it hard to tell from different strains because both were bought at PSA sales.

Yes. bottom one is Jeannie (size of the bloom will be the decider - Jeannie is 4+ inches - but it has all the characteristics).

Thank you Hetty! That was an awesome inflo...the flowers were large (4" no problem) and healthy thick petals. We had a 7' bush that we lost in the freeze of 2010...we were heart broken. The plant in the picture we dug up, but we had some fungus that ran through our exotics because we had so many stored together, so we had to trim it. But it s sprouting and growing so we are happy.
We also have crowns on our Hurricane and Candy Stripe we cant wait for.

Thanks again for your help!

Lovey dubby Lovey dubby beautiful colors Terry! I don't have these varieties. I haven't purchased any Moragne's because I heard they get really big and I don't have much space. The last couple years, I collected compact plummies and dwarfs. They are perfect for my front yard.

They sure are gorgeous and must have if you have the space.
