Some of the web photos show it pale like this photo. Most are brighter and have some quilling(?) in the petals. Might just be natural variation that shows up depending on the growing location?

I have a NOID that looks the same and I agree with every sentiment. It doesn't look so bad in a grouping but on its own it fails. The yellow fades very rapidly. Definitely not a stand alone.
