I agree

So glad to see the Insect and Bug forum off the ground! Hurray! Thank You! To me, pests and diseases seems distinct from insect ID. In one case I'm saying oh no, what is the matter with my plant? In the other I'm saying, wow look at this bug, what is it? Smiling

Yes, I agree. Most invertebrates are a blessing to a garden. They need to be celebrated and not put in a thread that is pejoratively named.
The problem is that when you are young your life it is ruined by your parents. When you are older it is ruined by your children.

I am so sorry for jumping right in here - I am bursting with excitement! I saw the most amazing creature tonight! Its little head moved just like a bird! It is so beautiful but I don't know what it is. Can anyone identify this for me?

Toni, jump right in! Well, it's definitely a Sphinx Moth of some kind. Didn't someone have a White-Lined Sphinx Moth a few weeks ago that looked like this? Chime in because I don't know this one for sure! Plus, those West Coast species always make me doubt myself.

FYI, Toni I just noticed you posted in our July thread. We've all moved to August so you may want to repost this over there in case people miss it.
