I was hesitant about getting Happy Happy as I seen a few people had problems with it in the colder climates this year. Hmmmmm. All of my DL's made it through the winter...but we had 5 feet of snow on the ground for insulation.

Planted a sf of Happy Happy last spring and it made it through the winter here. Wasn't sure it would though... I kept looking at last years fan and hoping to see signs of life, and it ended up sending a new shoot about a half inch from the old one. Larry's Obsession did the same. Guess I'll know what to look for next year.

I though Larry's Obsession had died, then a bit later out came a shoot a few inches from the original, like you discribed. I was happy. I had mulched quite heavily, and will do so this winter.

Oh I so want Happy Happy... Still hesitating since I lost soooo many last winter ( including Larry's Obsession). We got the below 0 temps without the protective snow cover and more freeze/thaws then I could count. Maybe this special is a sign to give it a try

I decided not to buy Happy Happy since I have never coveted.

Does anyone grow Strikingly Dramatic in zone 4B? it is strongly tempting me! I ordered from them for the first time last fall and none of the plants have died, although none have bloomed yet either. We had extreme cold but a deep continuous snow cover.

I believe @philjm grows it in Wisconsin.

Made the mistake of looking at Maryott's coming attractions today. --Was waiting for the summer specials to begin and now I'll be waiting to see what they bring out in the fall... this is just.. not good!!

Can't believe it, but my new MESMERIZER, which I received in the mail last Wednesday and potted up on Thursday, now already has a scape poking its head up above the foliage! Fantastic!!!

CaitlinsG, Strikingly Dramatic has been here in z4 since 2011 and has never bloomed. No scapes yet this year either....it goes on the compost pile this fall.

Happy to see everyone "Happy Happy" with their purchases! Had to check out the sales, too. No orders though...I've got a roof to fix next month
