Planted these elephant ears and cannas as babies in late April. They are really starting to take off. That canna on the left is blooming for the second time this year and has grown an entire new growth.

It looks great, Dave. The cannas should keep putting up new stems and blooming as long as the weather's warm and you keep feeding and watering them. Give 'em all the sun you can, too.

Once a stem is finished blooming, if you cut it off right at ground level (it's hard at first but it works) this stimulates the plant to put up new growths, and also make more rhizomes for next year!

Be careful, though, sometimes a stem will put up a second bloom scape behind the first one.

Everything looks great Dave. I'm having Canna withdrawal myself. Are yours from Brian? What's the EEar with the red eye (last pic)?

@eclayne Evan. Yes all of my EE's are from Brian. That particular one supposedly reminded him of a water lily. I can see why as the edges tend to turn up with age. He named it Victorious.

Cannas from Brian too Dave? I trashed all my nursery Cannas in an attempt to eradicate the Canna virus and will replenish next year. I have Victorious Gigante but she hasn't started popping large leaves yet. Yours looks happy.
