In my wanderings through the web, I once came across a website by a man who claimed that dandelion root could cure cancer. I offer this purely as a source of information; I'm not endorsing it. But I do know that drinking tea of dandelion root can't hurt you, so it might be worth a try. He recommended digging up the roots, cleaning them without water (just rubbing the dirt off), then drying them and using them to brew up a tea that he drank daily. I don't remember any of the dosage/details, but you might try googling on Dandelion and cancer cure and see what you get.

That said, please please recommend that your friend get the best medical care she can. Herbal remedies can offer great nutritional support to help the body fight disease, but I would cast a wary eye on anyone who claims they have a "cure." There is a reason we moved away from using herbs to treat serious disease; modern medicine, for all that it might seem unnatural etc., DOES offer the best hope. I speak from sad experience. My sister in law was diagnosed with a completly curable cancer ( a hysterectomy was recommended). She chose to ignore her doctor's advice and attempt to cure herself with herbs. She died. Unnecessarily. So make sure your friend follows her doctor's advice and yes, by all means, use herbs and plants as support...
Also, your friend should be sure to ALWAYS tell her doctor what herbal or natural remedies she is using. Some of them do react with drugs or may cause side effects with surgery.
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."
