Still moving some of the new noid semps around...so thankful Lynn for all those semps, so now I can tackle revamping my pathetic succulent ball planter:

The overgrown succulents on my ball planter..totally wrong choice of succulents:
Thumb of 2014-11-10/tarev/ce670a
A good learning curve for me...but those succulents were really actively growing, as I separated the upper and lower half of the sphere, saw how far along those roots have traveled to the center of the sphere going to the other side, have also uprooted those wrong succulents and transferred to their own containers, so now I can start filling in again the sphere.
Thumb of 2014-11-10/tarev/ee3b53

and more semps..this is so much fun filling up the sphere...working on the top half.. Big Grin

That's it for now, project still ongoing...just thoroughly enjoying planting the new noid semps! I still have the small vertical frame to amend later as well.

Wow, you have really been busy. That is going to be awesome. I can't wait to see it in the spring when all of them start coloring up. It will be stunning.

Have pulled out my dried out semp arachs yesterday, and replaced it with some more of the noid semps..
The dried out lower bowl of semps:
Thumb of 2014-11-11/tarev/938ff1
Replenished with the new noid semps: I left the sedums there, those ones endured well
Thumb of 2014-11-11/tarev/584246

And got these smaller glazed containers..all have drainage holes, and used to house my attempts to grow lithops and split rock..sadly just too hard to maintain those alive..oh well....so now they will be the throne of more semps Big Grin

I love those white containers, they are going to be gorgeous next spring when the semps color up and start increasing.
I can almost hear the plants sucking in the fog moisture. Bet they are happy. Smiling

Thanks Julia and Lynn!
The containers were for dipping sauce..but it looks cute so I had my hubby drill holes on them. Have been playing around what to grow in them. It is good if succulents are still small..but I end up moving some succulents to bigger containers as some succulents are fast growers..and as I mentioned it was also for my lithops and split rock before..but always a failure after overwintering..always wrong timing in bring them out.

The other succulents that used to live in those white containers in 2012..learned a lot from these plantings Big Grin
In this batch, only the Baby toes survived well, and is now in a bonsai container:

The two Crassulas on both ends survived well, such active growers so I have to move them to a bigger container:

In their current container: this photo was taken in early Spring this year:

I hope the semps will not mind just a little rain these coming few days..as I was planting some, looking at them it seems, some are in semi-dormant mode, the way the leaves are pulled tight closer to the rosettes. Reminds me of how my aeoniums behave when it is ready for its summer slumber.

Yes, due to harvesting, traveling and time of year, they would definitely be showing signs of winter dormancy. They may stay that way for the winter. But may wake up because of your mild winter weather.

Forgot to show the lower half of the sphere. This part not too heavily planted, but I chose the slightly bigger semps:
