I found this on my milk weed. If you can't tell, it is red with black spots and has black antennae. I have squash and pumpkins growing very near. Thanks!

So if they're doing what they do in my yard, they feed a bit on the milkweed, but don't touch anything else. So not exactly a 'beneficial' but they're not going to harm your veggies.
