My beloved cat of 20 years just passed away. She is buried in our flower garden, along with my Australian Shepard dog. When my dog passed away several years ago, I planted a Gentle Shepard Daylily on his grave. Now with the passing of my cat, I want to plant a Daylily with a fitting name for her on her grave. It was suggested on the Daylily forum to plant a Precious Kitty daylily. I love this! However, I cannot find it anywhere to purchase! Is this the wrong time of year to be planting them? Maybe that's why I can't find it? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the tips, everyone. Upon further research per your suggestions, the Precious Kitty daylily is a $50+shipping daylily, which is, unfortunately, out of my usual price range for a bare-root plant. Does anyone have any additional cultivar suggestions? It doesn't have to be a Daylily. I live in zone 6, which elminates the Cat's Whisker plant and my children we not excited about catnip or catmint; they wanted something a little more showy. Thank you!

I got to thinking. If you can't find one out of those to suit then try searching by your Kitty's name. Just click on "Plant Database" at the top left of any page, then enter your kitties name in the search box, hit search & it will come up with a list of plants that have that name in them.

Thank you. I just did this. Her name was Sweetie and the database brought up a daylily called Sweetie. According to the database , this plant was introduced in 1960. So I would think it would be easy to find and perhaps reasonably price. But unfortunately, I cannot find it anywhere to purchase it. I'll keep searching. Thanks again!
