I often come home to a little box of strawberries on my porch or a little pot of hen and chicks at my front gate maybe a bag of tomatoes. Since I collect old farm tools I often find rusty broken shovels and rakes leaned against my fence. No one ever takes credit. It often feels like a mystery when you find a rusty bike wheel and an old shovel on the front porch sometimes with a little note that says 'enjoy'. I do.

Thanks Debra. I will check out how it prints and let you know.

I used to have a few neighbors who asked for figs. One of them used to leave me casseroles when she came to pick. That was sweet. If they ask, I have plenty to give them. I wouldn't be so kind about veggies though!

And I do need a fence, but a wood one would block sunlight to my iris and figs, and I can't afford the wrought iron one I wish I had!

Maybe a big sign saying BEWARE YELLOW JACKETS. If anyone asks tell them that sadly, a friend of yours walked out towards the fig tree and stirred up a nest and she is having an awful time surviving the vicious stings.

There once was a farmer who was getting his watermelon stolen, so he made a sign that said,"one of these melons has been injected with poison" The next day he went out to see that the sign had been altered to say, "now there are 2" Hilarious!

I have one of the motion activated sprinklers, it's awesome and even works at night. It was invented by a guy to keep his neighbor's dogs from 'visiting' his front yard. I think that would be the best deterrent for your fig-nappers. If you have good water pressure, it gives a very strong spray for about 3 seconds. Mine is known as a 'Scarecrow' and they're on Amazon.

I use mine to try to deter the birds and squirrels from eating all my lychees. I got to eat one, exactly, this year. Crying Forgot to put out the sprinkler gadget before I left on a trip . . . Rolling my eyes. Can't use it in the back yard because every time I set it up to scare away the &*#$^$@$@&ed raccoons, the cat comes in wet and angry.

I can't imagine anyone stealing zucchini.. Usually someone leaves a bag and runs.

I've got a couple of fig trees.. One of them doesn't get enough heat most years, but this year I got the most divine tasting fruit.. The variety is 'Panache' and the fruit are green and cream striped. The other fig, I pretty much leave to the birds... I'm only good for a few each year... Same with persimmons.

Right now I've got buckets of Pluots. Wonderful, but I'm overwhelmed..

I love raw zucchini, but I also love kale, brussels sprouts, broccoli and raw spinach. Just don't put a mushroom anywhere near me. Thumbs down

Glad someone else has The Scarecrow. I've been preaching about it for a couple of years, but no one seems to want to try it. It's highly effective on all critters, but underground ones. You just have to be able to get the hose to the garden.
