Thread OP

Hi, my name is Billy and I am new to this site as of today. First of all I would like to say to you that I am so sorry for your loss, it is so hard dealing with the loss of someone we love dearly, and I will be sure to send some prayers your way.
The reason I picked you to message to is i just purchased 6 acres in Bonifay and will be moving there soon to begin a new life, at 62 yrs. old I wanna be a farmer, Rolling my eyes. , kinda late getting started but I am really excited and looking forward to it. I have been planning this for the last few yrs. and have acquired quite a bit of knowledge interning, studying, community gardening, etc. and believe I am finally ready to give it a go. I know absolutely nobody in N. Fl., as I have lived in St. Pete and Cape Coral since 84, so i hope you will be my first friend in Holmes county and maybe point me in the right direction as I venture out into this entirely new way of life. I do have a friend from St Pete moving there next year but will be completely alone for the first few months . I am currently workin and learning on a small farm in Va. and will be leaving here to return to Fl. soon, but not sure where as I may intern for a few more months in the Gainsville area at a homestead named"Finca Mycol" for one last bout of learning sustainable living, permaculture, and all things nature. OK, i do tend to ramble on at times, so will give it a break for now, gonna go out and tie up some more tomatoe plants, destroy some squash bugs on my zucchini, and work rest of day in greenhouse starting seed for fall planting. I just Love this way of living. PEACE!
Billy

Hi Billy.... Welcome! Welcome! to ATP. I'll be happy to be a friend although I'm not in Holmes County. I'm actually in northern Bay County about 30 miles or so north of Panama City....City NOT beach. Don't really know that much about Bonifay except that they have a good rodeo every year. Sounds like you have a good game plan going. Any idea when you will be comming to north Florida or is it pretty much up in the air?? You will love it here at ATP. LOTS of very friendly and helpful folks. Have you checked out the farming forum yet? Again :welcome:
