And then there are the plants that are hazardous for pets -- do we have a category for that? (if there is, sorry -- this just occurred to me as I was reading through this thread)

I don't think that we do (???). If not, that is a category that I would really appreciate!

Eating methods - Including fermented seems useful.

Suitable locations - Street tree should be included. Beach front/salt spray should be helpful.

Wildlife Attractant - Herbivores. I'm unsure how this would be determined or verified.

Okay, my work is complete! I did a lot of moving things around and adding a few per the proposal listed above. I completely ignored the medicinal part per our earlier discussion.

I think you could split "Beach Front (salt tolerant)" apart.
By keeping just "Beach Front" and adding "Salt tolerant" to Resistances.
Beach front plants would also need to tolerate wind and poor very sandy soil.

Dave, I notice Inflorescence Height and Foliage Mound Height are separated from Plant Height and Spread. Was the previous layout considered confusing?

I don't remember the thinking on that but I can see where you'd want to search on inflorescence heights in a different scenario from searching the entire plant height. There are some genera where this particular item is important.

Filling in the plant height field seems superfluous when the inflorescence height is the tallest part of the plant, so I haven't been doing it. Having the plant dimensions separated looks like this.I find it confusing.

Would a Fruiting Time category with the same check boxes as Flower Time be useful?

Would that mean when the fruit ripens Evan? And if so, isn't that variable with the zone? Or do you mean a general fruit time such as summer or fall but not specific as to month?

That is why I was wondering about the usefulness. Pinning down useful seasons data for when the fruit is ripe.
