Ed's are gorgeous, but I must admit I'm really partial to the UNK x UNK with that lovely soft color and long petals!

Can you register a seedling if its parents are unknown?

Elaine - Absolutely! I have seen a number of named and registered daylilies without parentage listed on the AHS! And I agree with you .... Margaret should definitely name and register that unknown daylily!

Ed and all others here .... I love looking at all the seedling blooms. I wished I was rich and had acres of land as I would buy one of each and every one of them!

My season is starting to wind down, and the lack of rain is making things look pretty sad.
There are a very few yet to open but those being new purchases this spring I will have to wait before I know if they are really late season bloomers.

The seedling beds had a few nice things this year, and some of the new from last summer were outstanding.
My favorite plant to bloom this year was "The Goldilocks Effect" every bloom opened wide, long bloom season, and it has many pods, purchased 2013.

With the cool weather of July I was able to set pods on many that were tough pod setters before, so all in all there will be lots of seeds from many directions to select for growing and the seed sales.
It's been a pleasure to share, and thanks to all for letting me.

Yes.

Very nice seedlings everyone! Happy to see C75 is still being different Bloom in the seedling beds is slowing down, still making crosses although I know I should stop soon or the freezing temps will force me to bring the scapes inside to harvest the pods. I went overboard this year, cross tags are everywhere.

There are very few things blooming here, only a few reblooming.
I now have two seedling beds ready for the babies, will start planting the first ones this Saturday. I will plant three weekends and all seedlings will be in the ground, (about 1600)

I look nearly every day for the seedlings. My goodness, there are some beauties on here from tiny to huge blooms in all colors of the rainbow. I grow very few seedlings any more since they are a lot of work. I have had two new ones bloom this summer.


Dragonfly Dawn X Waves of Joy



Stenciled di Fresco X (Get Jiggy X Funky Blues) - this seedling usually has a pattern, not always as pronounced as in this bloom.

Two repeat sdlgs bloomed today.

SDLG. CUTTING LOOSE X GASKINS A-103 I wasn't too excited when this one first bloomed, but this 2nd bloom is a knockout. The color has changed completely, much lighter and a very clean Victorian pink , and the edge is much softer with possibility of teeth forming. I will keep this one for another year. Like it a lot.

SDLG. BLUE GRASS MUSIC X ROYAL CYPHER - 2 Yr. old sdlg. Bloomed last yr. at 13 months. Not sure I will be keeping this one for another year. Self color is that pale orange/coral.

I had some good seedlings this year blooming in July/August here zone 7b in Germany, all very different as I like it.
Hope they'll survive the winterseason ! Some years it's very cold here....
