Similar to the Mystic Pizza shown below, but with very distinct yellow (or cream) midribs...all the way to the tips.

Holly Dancer has the wow factor going on, but it seems to lack the distinctly bright, full-length midrib color.

Do y'all have any favorites that are similar that I can look for?

TIA

Murphy's 'A Little Fire, Scarecrow' is sitting on my wish list, but I don't know who may be offering it. Several photos on ATP in the database. Is it something along those lines you're looking for?

Similar to that, Donald, yes, but something common enough that I can actually find it offered somewhere. I'm not an experienced daylily hunter. Whistling

Here's a picture of the type of look I'm searching for, but with perhaps a bit more of a red color. To my eye, my camera made the red look a bit more purplish than what I see.

'Marse Connell' maybe? It's older and someone should have it. Another from my wish list.

Try Oak Hill Daylilies, you might find something there. Check out Magic Swirling Ship and they do have Marse Connell.

Thank you for those as well. Both are definite possibilities, but I think the shape/form of this one is closest to the look I'm after.

Have you grown this one, Avedon?

I haven't grown it, just stumbled across it when I was looking at Oak Hill DLS. I really do like the look of it.

I'll check those out, Chalyse, thanks!

I've also found a page of interesting cultivars in the DB; Child plants of Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Chief Black Hand').

Here's a nice one. Big Grin

It's still more of a wine-red, but I love the contrast of the long, light and well-defined midribs.

Funny thing is, I ordered a Red Suspenders a couple of years ago but was sent the wrong plant. I may try again on that one. Thumbs up

Following parentage lines in the DB now (and burning up yet more time), but it's a sultry day so I guess it's okay.

I like this one, too. It looks like it would really add some brightness to the gardens here.

I'm still working my way through this page http://garden.org/plants/paren... , but I think I'll have enough choices available now to find something offered somewhere. My want list is growing by leaps and bounds! It might be a very good thing that not all of these will be available.

Thanks so very much for all of your help! Thumbs up

Nope. Let's keep on keepin' on. Big Grin

I'm trying to locate some of the ones I've added to my want list now, but it'll take some time. I don't order often enough to retain any real knowledge of where to look.

I think I've found a supplier for Mad Max if I decide to go with (or add Whistling ) that one. Hurray!
