I have been looking for the good markdowns, but not having your luck. I have bought nothing off the mark down isles this year. Ferns and Hostas , oh my! Guess you are on the yellow brick road of plants.

I have a strong suspicion that the employees at Lowes Garden center don't know beans about plants (all to the good as far as I'm concerned). Apparently if a daylily is not blooming and the leaves are turning yellow it is "dying" and needs to be tossed on the $1 a pot discount table. Far be it from me to tell them this is normal in a lot of daylilies.

The red honeysuckle I "scored" is a prime example of bad care: They had it under the big roofed in area, and were giving it lots of water...just like they do everything. Covered in mildew and looked terrible. I have it out in the open, where it's getting lots of wind and sun and haven't watered it in a couple days: clean new growth coming out everywhere.

What you need to do is find a Lowes where they employ bored and not too bright teenagers!
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."
